Valentines for our Troops 2008The 2008 "Valentines for our Troops" campaign raised $2,353 in cash donations and collected 1,442 pounds of personal care items for our service men and women serving overseas. The campaign was sponsored this year by the Ladies Auxilary of American Legion Post 576 in LeRoy, UMMC and WBTA. Postage for the 78 boxes of items totaled $1,122.65. With the remaining cash donations, Legion members purchased additional items. Each box contained a letter from the Auxiliary and hand-made valentines, many from children, that were contributed to the drive. Any families that know when their military sons or daughters are returning home from abroad, please contact the American Legion at 768-2090.
