MAY There will be a free blood pressure screening every Thursday, during May at the UMMC Cardiac Rehab, 215 Summit Street, Batavia, from 1:30pm to 3pm. MAY UMMC Healthy Living, 211 East Main Street, Batavia, will hold a series of Diabetes self management education programs on May 5, 12, 15, and 22 from 6pm to 8:30pm. Learn about nutrition, medication, glucose monitoring and exercise/fitness. Call Healthy Living to register. MAY UMMC will hold a series of free smoking cessation classes, May 7, 14, 21, and 28th, from 3pm to 4pm, at the UMMC Terry Almeter classroom, 127 North Street, Batavia. MAY – JUNE Richmond the Ant is lost in Batavia! Richmond Memorial Library is asking children to help get him back to the library by June 23rd. MAY 13 The Genesee County Chapter of the American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive, Tuesday, May 13, at the First United Methodist Church, Lewiston Road, Batavia, from 2pm to 7pm. MAY 14 United Way Day of Caring will be held Wednesday, May 14, from 9am to 3pm. If you would like to volunteer your time, talents, and energy to help not-for-profit service providers with all kinds of projects, call the United Way at 343-8141. MAY 16 The Wyoming County Chapter of the American Red Cross will also be collecting live giving blood at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, Perry, Friday, May 16, from 2pm to 7pm. MAY 17 The Rotary Club of LeRoy presents the annual Graze to Raise gala fundraiser for the R.E.A. Classes will be held June 2 , 3, and 5 from 6:30 to 9:30 each day. Attendance at all three classes is mandatory. Minimum age for attendance is 10 years of age. To register call 494-1120.
