The light snow we are receiving in Batavia and Genesee County this morning is not the storm we are waiting for.
This snowfall is expected to produce only 1 to 3 inches of accumulation.

A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for 10pm tonight to 10pm tomorrow night.
Total new accumulation by Wednesday night is estimated at between 8 to 16 inches
Local residents flooded Tops Market in Batavia last night as the area began bracing for a winter storm. Some grocery stores in Western New York said they were forced to call in extra employees to help with customers stocking up on essentials. Home improvement stores like the Home Depot also reported being sold out of salt and other weather-related items.
Fire of unknown cause destroyed a house trailer and left four people homeless.
Flames were spotted streaming from the trailer along Transit Road near Route 262 yesterday afternoon.
The four who lived in the trailer were migrants, all were at work at the time.
Governor Andrew Cuomo will deliver his budget address today at 1p.m. Cuomo has vowed not to raise taxes and he says he wants to address the 10-billion-dollar deficit this year. Thousands of state workers could be laid off. Cuomo says expensive programs could be cut because more money does not equal better services.
A man from the Rochester suburb of Greece has been arrested for leaving his 7-month-old child in a freezing cold car, while he gambled at a casino.
25-year-old Clint Vanepps has been charged with endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies say Vanepps left his child in a car with only a light blanket. The outside temperature was 15 degrees. A patron at the Finger Lakes Casino heard the baby crying and contacted security. Deputies said the child was in the car for almost an hour.
