Western Region Off Track Betting vows to answer any and all questions over its management of Batavia Downs.
The New York Lottery, which regulates the video lottery terminals at the Downs, threatened to pull the slot machines unless OTB improved its management practices.
Today, Western Region OTB President Martin Bassinait tells WBTA News the two sides will work this out:
Western OTB bought Batavia Downs 12 years ago.
The installation of the Lottery slot machines is credited with keeping the harness racing program alive.
WROTB has scheduled a special meeting for this Thursday to talk about the Lottery’s concerns and a possible new management plan.
