The Batavia City Council presented 2016 City Recognition Awards last night.

 Business of the Year – Batavia Marine & Sporting Supplies is recognized for this award. Their knowledge and experience helps the outdoor sporting crowd make the right decisions on the right equipment. A family owned business which was founded in 1955 by the Barrett Family, Mike Barrett puts the customer needs first and ensures every product he sells and provides the best product support. Mike Barrett


Homeowner of the Year – Jennifer Reardon is recognized for her beautifully maintained home and vibrant flower gardens. The abundance in diverse style of flowers that surrounds her home is nothing less than astonishing. Jennifer also offers our community to pick up a book or two and leave one behind
with her “Little Library” that sits on the corner of Washington Street and Lewis Avenue. She brings a sense of pride to the neighborhood which is a true gift that keeps on giving.

Anthony Condello is recognized for his community commitment.
He has devoted thousands of hours for the betterment of Batavia. Tony has volunteered on boards and committees with the Downtown Batavia Business Improvement District. He was instrumental in organizing the Farmer’s Market and has volunteered since its inception. Tony has also volunteered for
the Genesee Senior Foundation and Holland Land Office. Tony continues to give back to the community, he is a true example of going above and beyond which has a lasting impact that does not go unnoticed.
