Darien Lake is under new management.
Herschend Family Entertainment based near Atlanta will now operate the local amusement park.
The company owns, operates or is a partner in 24 entertainment properties in eight states.
Herschend takes over from Parc management, who had announced last fall it wanted out of its management deal for Darien Lake.
Herschend is a partner with country singer Dolly Parton in the Dollywood Park in Tennessee.
A historic Western New York ski lodge with ties to the 1964 World's Fair is no more. About 150 firefighters battled flames that destroyed the lodge at the Cockaigne Ski Center in the Chautauqua County Town of Cherry Creek. A county snowplow driver spotted the flames early Tuesday morning.
No injuries were reported. Seven volunteer fire companies fought the fire.
Muzzammil Hassan's murder trial continues with Hassan saying he intends to try and show that his wife was actually the "abuser" in their marriage. Hassan is now acting as his own attorney. He's accused of beheading his wife Aasiya inside the Orchard Park TV station the couple owned.
Hassan says he wants to call several witnesses for his defense, including the judge in his case and the prosecutor.
A routine traffic stop in Warsaw lands a minor league professional basketball player in jail.
35-year-old Marlin Johnson of Rochester, a forward for the Rochester Razorsharks, was stopped for speeding and erratic driving along State Route 19 in the Town of Warsaw.
Following an investigation, Wyoming County deputies also charged Johnson with DWI and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
His license had been suspended 17 times.
