Local State Senator Mike Ranzenhofer has been named Chairman of the Senate Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions.
Senate appointments were announced by Republican Majority Leader Dean Skelos.
Ranzenhofer will also sit on a number of other committees, including Banks, Judiciary, Education, Energy, Racing Gaming & Wagering, and Agriculture.
Ranzenhofer says he looks forward to continuing his agriculture work after helping to defeat the Farm Labor Bill - nicknamed the "Farm Death Bill" - in 2010.
