Campaign sources tell "Newsday" that Carl Paladino's campaign manager offered to resign twice this week following the GOP gubernatorial candidate's remarks about gays. Sources tell the newspaper that Michael Caputo offered to resign just hours after Paladino's speech was read. Paladino said in that speech he didn't want children to be brain washed thinking homosexuality is an equally valid option. On Tuesday Caputo said it was his fault that the speech written for Paladino was not properly worded before he read it aloud. Caputo again on Thursday offered to resign at a meeting. Paladino rejected the offer both times. Caputo will remain campaign manager but will no longer travel with Paladino and instead, run operations from headquarters.
