The search has ended for a missing Town of Darien man in a manner many feared it would.
The body of 66-year-old Jeffrey Fredericks of Sumner Road, Darien, was discovered late Saturday in Darien Lake State Park.
The coroner ruled Mr. Fredericks had taken his own life.
On the campaign trail:
Republican Gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino handed out lollipops during his visit to the Big Apple Sunday. Paladino greeted supporters in Queens as he marched in the Columbus Day Parade in Howard Beach, not far from where his Democrat opponent, Andrew Cuomo, grew up.
Meanwhile Andrew Cuomo is lending his support to Eric Schneiderman in the state attorney general race.
Cuomo made the announcement yesterday
The two met in 1982 on the gubernatorial campaign trail for Mario Cuomo.
WBTA Eye on Government:
The Batavia City Council meets in conference session this evening.
That means no official votes are taken.
Council is expected to review a payment of $220,000 to Erdman Anthony Engineers for work on the Cedar Street reconstruction project. That $2.8-million project will rebuild Cedar between Main and Ellicott.
No one was injured after a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to White Plains had to make an emergency landing Saturday night.
As the pilot was getting ready to land he realized his landing gear was not working.
The pilot took the plane to JFK, where the runway is considerably longer.
The pilot landed the jet on its belly and right wing.
None of the 64 people on board were hurt.
