A Covington man is behind bars this morning and charged with impersonating a law enforcement official. 41-year-old Nikko Gambino of Covington has been charged with Criminal Impersonation and with Falsely Reporting An Incident. Members of the Genesee County Local Drug Enforcement Task Force raided his home yesterday morning. They allegedly found several articles of clothing with Law Enforcement type markings on them, along with a metal badge. Gambino reportedly twice went to the Batavia Wal-Mart dressed in Law enforcement markings and indicated that he was a Federal Agent and was looking for suspects of a robbery and the other time was looking for fugitives. Bail for Gambino has been set at 5 thousand dollars.
One person was injured in an ATV accident in the Wyoming County Town of Bennington. 17-year-old Michelle Bruner of Akron was operating the ATV on Private property when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree just off the trail. Brunner was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medicinal Center. A passenger on the ATV, 19 year old Paul Black of Corfu, was not injured. Both were ejected from the ATV.
Democrat Andrew Cuomo goes on the offense following several conflicting polls in the race for New York Governor. Cuomo took his message to Rochester, where he says his top priority as governor would be to create more jobs. Cuomo did not campaign far from Buffalo, the hometown of his Republican challenger Carl Paladino. The Paladino campaign had a supporter dressed in a duck costume follow Cuomo on Friday, charging the Democratic challenger has been ducking the question on whether to hold televised debates.
