One of two searches for missing persons in the area has ended, while another will continue today.
A missing Albion woman has been found safe, while the search continues for a man missing since Wednesday in the Town of Darien.
In Darien authorities have used ground searchers, all-terrain vehicles a helicopter and several K-9 units to try and locate 66-year-old Jeffrey Fredericks of Sumner Road.
Mr. Fredericks is described as 5ft. 11in. tall, weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes and salt and pepper hair.
He was last seen Wednesday morning. Authorities said yesterday that they were concerned Fredericks might attempt to harm himself.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
In Orleans County, the search for a 51-year-old woman missing since Wednesday has ended. Gina Sheg was located late yesterday in a wooded area about a half mile from her home. Authorities say Mrs. Sheg was conscious but incoherent. She was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Also from the Town of Darien, a County Line Road man has been arrested following a domestic dispute.
Deputies say 42-year-old Thomas Breissinger came home from work yesterday, smashed the family’s computer and started punching holes in the wall.
Deputies say Breissinger threatened to kill his wife and then kicked her.
He has been charged with criminal mischief and harassment.
The State Labor Department is showing a slight improvement in the Genesee County unemployment rate.
Figures out today show the August jobless rate locally was 6.2-percent, down .3-percentt from July.
Orleans County also showed improvement, but the jobless rate is considerably higher.
The Orleans County unemployment rate for August was 9.4 percent.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino has thrown out his self-imposed spending limit and now says he will use whatever money it takes to win. Prior to Tuesday night's Primary win, Paladino had said he would only spend about ten million dollars of his personal fortune. His campaign says the upset victory over Rick Lazio cost nearly five million dollars.
