The search for a new president is on at GCC.
Current president Stuart Steiner announced in last that he will retire in August 2011 after serving 37 years.
Now, the College Board of Trustees has announced the hiring of Robert Parilla out of Washington D.C., to locate a new president. Board Chairman Charles Ruffino thinks the move will serve them well:
"We've hired a search consultant - a renowned person - who's done this for ten years," Ruffino said. "He's also placed about 7 or 8 of the community college presidents in New York State. So he's well-versed in the process."
Ruffino tells WBTA news that there should be a decision on a new GCC president by the end of April.
