A fire from a hydrogen tank explosion near the Rochester International Airport is now "contained."
The Rochester Airport has re-opened, Route 390, near the Rochester Airport was closed earlier...but has now re-opened.
The explosion happened at the Monroe County Green Alternative Fueling Station on Scottsville Rd. during a truck re-fueling around 12:45 this afternoon. The truck driver suffered burns to his face and hands.
Fueling tanks for the airport are stored nearby.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation but Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks says there are no indications the explosion was anything other than an accident.
