The Genesee County Fair has cut the price of its midway amusement rides almost in half.
But there is a reason: many of the advertised rides are not there.
Fair officials have reduced the price of an all day ride wrist band to $12.
It had been advertised at $20.
Fair officials said the new midway company – used for the first time this year – did not bring all the rides they said they would.
The fair runs though Saturday.
Batavia police arrest a 22 year old Ross Street man on felony charges of burglary and assault.
Nathan Royse is accused of illegally entering a home on Wood Street, assaulting the residents with a snow shovel injuring two of them.
Police say all of this was done in front of a one year old infant.
Police report there is still no cause of determined for 38-year-old Summer Ogden. The Batavia woman was found dead on the front porch of a Jackson Street home over the weekend. An autopsy has been performed but results of toxicology tests have not been received.
The University at Buffalo paid Hillary Clinton $275,000 to speak at the school last fall.
The contract said the total was paid to the Clinton Foundation, a 501c organization.
The university had previously refused to release the information from its Distinguished Speaker Series.
One man is dead and another is facing felony charges after the two broke into a electric utility substation in Perry.
Andrew Mower and another man broke into the substation last Thursday and tried to steal copper wire.
That's when Mower was shocked by a 35,000-volt power line. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester where he died from his injuries.
The second man is facing charges of criminal mischief and criminal tampering.
A community is gathering together to remember a tragic anniversary. It was a year ago yesterday that three Caledonia teenagers were killed in a horrific crash in Wheatland.
Two other teens survived the crash.
Last night members of the community came out for a memorial service and released balloons in memory of the victims.
The intersection where the crash happened has now been turned into a four way stop.
