Houseknechts Reacquire Vending Company
A Batavia vending business sold to a Massachusetts company almost six years ago is reacquired by the Houseknechts.
John and Tom sold Loose Ends in 2008 after the family sold its Pepsi bottling company. They’ve re-entered the vending business and are re-branding the company to Crickler Vending.
The company has distribution centers in Rochester, Buffalo and Elmira. They told our news partner, The Batavian, that they have no plans to operate a distribution center in Genesee County at this time, as they see those three cities as their primary market areas.
Corfu Man Arrested for Threatening Girlfriend with Kitchen Knife
A Corfu man has been arrested for allegedly threatening his girlfriend and an acquaintance with a kitchen knife.
Edwin Stancliff, Jr. was arrested after Genesee County Sheriff’s responded to a domestic violence call.
Upon arrival, it was reported that the 35-year-old showed a 6-inch kitchen knife during a dispute between his girlfriend and friend.
Stancliff was charged with 2 counts of menacing in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was committed to the Genesee County Jail.
Water Main to be Repaired on Bank Street
A Water Main repair is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3rd on Bank Street.
The work will require Bank Street to be closed for traffic from Chandler Avenue to Ross Street until the repair is finished.
The road will be closed at approximately 8:30 a.m.
The repair may cause temporary discolored water or low pressure in the area, which means you should check to make sure that water clarity has returned before doing any activities that could be affected.
Cuomo Loses Former Backer
Governor Andrew Cuomo loses the support of a party that backed him four years ago.
Instead of endorsing the democratic candidate, the Working Families Party is set to nominate a Fordham University Political Science professor as its candidate for New York Governor. 
Party leaders admit that Zephyr Teachout has little chance of beating Cuomo, but say that she would cut his margin of victory and damage his reputation among progressives. 
Cuomo has angered many liberals with his tax policies.
