The owner of the former Latina’s was arraigned in Batavia City Court and immediately left town.

Tom Lewin, manager of LKLWL Properties, surrendered himself before Batavia City Court yesterday morning, accompanied by his attorney,court officials said.

Lewin did not enter a plea. His case was adjourned until August 20.

A warrant for  Lewin’s arrest had been issued on Friday when he failed to appear for a court summons. Town of Amherst police were unable to locate him at his home on at least three separate occasions over the weekend.

Lewin orginally faced charges under the Batavia City Code for sanitation violations at the former Latina's building downtown.
