For the third time in less than a month, Batavia’s Elmwood Cemetery has been vandalized. Cemetery superintendent Steven Davis says he noticed Friday afternoon that eight stones, two urns and a garbage can were knocked over. 30 headstones were broken last weekend. The Batavia Police Department says the vandals could face charges of cemetery desecration and trespassing. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call police at 585-345-6350.
Today’s weather will be about the same as yesterdays. The high on Saturday was 52 with a low of 43 with scattered rain showers in the afternoon and evening. Today the forecast is for mostly cloudy skies and windy conditions. It will be cool with a high of 55.
The Buffalo Bills could identify its newest owner in three months, according to a new report. The Associated Press says the team could be sold by July and be approved by NFL owners as early as in October. A source said at least one prospective ownership group has already toured potential new stadium locations in Buffalo. It comes as New York State is also planning to hire a consulting firm over the next week to produce a report that would identify potential stadium sites and financing options. That's expected to be ready in three months.
It may be a sure sign that summer is just around the conrer. Darien Lake Theme Park opened for season ticket holders yesterday with less than ideal conditions. Many people braved the cool temperatures and rainy conditions to get a first look at the park for the 2014 season. Darien Lake opens for the General Public next Saturday.
