A knife is off the streets of LeRoy following some quick action by a citizen.
18-year-old Michael Hill of Bacon Street was allegedly at a park discussing an issue with another person. The conversation apparently became heated. Hill allegedly drew out a 4-inch knife. He was quickly disarmed by citizen standing by.
LeRoy Police Detective John Condidorio says the unnamed citizen bear-hugged Hill and forced him to drop the knife. Police were then called to the scene. They recovered the knife, which had been dropped near the Oatka Creek.
Hill was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and released on an Appearance ticket.
