A Corfu man, with a history of child sexual abuse, has been arrested for allegedly abusing a child in Steuben County for over a year.
62-year-old Jackie Taft of Corfu is charged with having contact with a child under the age of 13 at least 10 times.
State Police say Taft gained access to the child during multiple visits with a family in Steuben County.
Authorities said Taft was indicted by a Wyoming County Grand Jury in 1979 and again in 1984 for sex crimes against children under the age of 11.
Taft is now locked up in the Steuben County Jail on $50,000 bail.
A garage fire in Corfu sent flames and black smoke into the sky over East Main Street in the village.
