Scratch the Batavia City School District from the New York Lottery singing contest.
Batavia has been disqualified – for not following the rules.
The city schools have been touting their entry in the contest that featured the schools Grade 4 through 12 Chorus.
The school entered a video into the contest and had been ranking well in the online voting.
But late yesterday, the Lottery informed the Batavia City School District that they had violated two provisions of the contest by using a third-party template to produce the video.
The city schools called it "an honest mistake."
