Construction of new suites and apartments for GCC College Village has cleared the county legislature.
Lawmakers endorsed six-million dollars in bonds for the project which includes two new buildings and a maximum of 64 beds.
The College Village complex has been plagued by minor fires, drug arrests and trespassing complaints.
The county legislature has also voted the change the time of their meetings from 7pm to 5:30pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
A 22-year-old Livingston County man is dead following a snowboarding accident at Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid. Austin White of Hemlock was riding a trail at the ski resort when he crashed and was killed yesterday afternoon.
White was a senior at the College at Brockport, where he was studying exercise science.
