The National Weather Service has extended the Winter Storm Warning into Genesee, Orleans and Northern Erie Counties.
The warning is in effect from 10 tonight through 10 tomorrow night.
We had been under a Winter Storm Watch.
With the upgrade, our forecast is calling for heavy snow accumulating 6 to 10 inches and visibilities under a half mile at times.
The weather service says the worst travel conditions are expected tomorrow morning.
A Byron man has just been arrested for a break-in almost two years ago at the Discovery Chapel in Batavia.
34-year-old Shannon Cook is facing charges of Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass. Cook left drops of blood at the scene which was later traced to him through DNA testing. Cook has been released under the supervision of Genesee Justice.
State Police at Warsaw make an arrest in a child porn case.
47-year-old Frederick Baker of Varysburg has been busted for possession of child pornography.
The investigation has been going on since last September.
Troopers said a computer repair specialist found the suspected smut on a computer he was servicing for Baker.
A Wyoming Correctional inmate is facing three counts of assault for allegedly attacking two correctional officers and a sergeant.
The sergeant suffered a serious head injury.
Charged in the case was 19-year-old inmate Khamarid Brown who was serving a sentence for burglary out of Onondaga County.
A Rochester man and his brother got into a fight at the end of Sunday’s Super Bowl game.
Before it was over, Sean Fallon-Nebbia came up and bit off a piece of his brother’s ear.
The brother was unconscious when police arrived, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment of severe bleeding.
Sean is charged with first degree assault, and is being held on $15,000 bail.
