A Genesee County Grand Jury has failed to indict a Batavia man who had been accused of First Degree Sexual Abuse.
The Grand Jury handed up a “no bill” in the case against 24-year-old Kiernan Kinney of Woodstock Gardens.
Kinney had been accused of forcing a 21 year old woman into sexual contact last April on South Lake Road in Pavilion.
Convicted child sex abuser Earl Sprague now wants a new lawyer as a date approaches for a second trial that could put him behind bars for life.
Sprague is serving a 21 year sentence for his conviction last month on multiple charges of child sexual abuse.
He is now 8 weeks away from a second trial accusing him of eight more charges including predatory sexual assault.
Investigators continue to interview customers and employees of Bed, Bath and Beyond trying to determine the cause of Monday’s fire.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is heading the investigation. Deputies are also looking over store surveillance video.
The fire and the resulting smoke and water, extensively damaged the store’s inventory.
The number of people accusing a former Orleans County pastor of sexual abuse continues to grow.
Officials say 15 people in three states have signed affidavits saying they had been abused by Reverend Roy Harriger when they were children.
Many of the victims are now adults, and their cases cannot be prosecuted because of the statute of limitations.
Harriger once served as a pastor in Lyndonville.
He is free on $25,000 bail.
