It’s been a long, cold January in Genesee County.
Frigid wind chills closed Oakfield-Alabama for the third day in a row today. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until 3 this afternoon with wind chill values reaching 20-below zero.
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement this afternoon, as well. It says blowing snow will continue today with strong southwest wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles per hour. Combined with some light lake effect snow, visibility could be reduced to a half mile or less at times.
There could a relative warm-up coming. The high Thursday is forecast at 28 degrees and for the following two days the forecast predicts temperatures over 30 degrees.
