Another reported armed robbery in Batavia and another quick arrest by local lawmen.
Just before 10 last night, a lone gunman held up the Sunoco station at West Main and Dellinger.
No one was hurt and it was unknown how much money was taken.
With the help of the Sheriff’s office new K-9 Destro, a suspect was taken into custody.
More information is expected to be released later this morning.
As predicted, arctic cold has swept into Western New York. Temperatures early this morning ranged 1 above to 5 below zero.
Fortunately, the winds are relatively calm. When a slight breeze does come up, the wind chill in Batavia falls to 10-below zero.
An Attica man is accused of punching a child in the ribs.
55-year-old Michael Beedham of Prospect Street is charged with third-degree Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Batavia Police say the alleged assault occurred in front of a business on Lewiston Road.
The child suffered swelling and bruising.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says this year's budget is about more than numbers.
In his budget address yesterday, Cuomo calls the 138-billion-dollar budget is an “innovative action plan.”
Cuomo says the plan provides one and a half-billion-dollars for a statewide pre-kindergarten program.
The proposal also includes the creation of a system of publicly financed election campaigns.
Reaction continues to pour in to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's comments last week about extreme conservatives not being welcome in the Empire State.
State GOP Chairman Ed Cox is calling for an apology.
Many feel Cuomo was wrong to say they're not welcome.
Cuomo's office says the governor simply meant an extremist political agenda would not work in New York because most residents are moderates.
