A big thaw is coming this weekend and while that may be a relief after a blizzard it also means the threat of flooding.
The National Weather Service announces a Flood Watch will be in effect for Genesee County from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon.
Rain, plus near-50 degree temps Saturday equals snow melt. NWS says ice jams have already become problems in many WNY rivers and creeks. The potential for flooding near the ice jams will increase.
