Dispatchers have difficult jobs and have to be calm under pressure at all times, including emergencies.
Luckily for a Cynthia May and her in-labor 18-year-old daughter, dispatcher Matthew Snyder was just that.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reports that Snyder fielded a 911 call yesterday morning from May who said her daughter was delivering a baby in the vehicle on Route 98 in Gainesville, Wyoming County.
Snyder stayed in constant contact with the caller, providing emergency medical instructions until first responders could be dispatched.
Sheriff Thomas Dougherty reports mother and daughter are doing fine.
