Genesee County is under two weather advisories this morning.
First, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. The Storm Watch also extends to Orleans County.
The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing rain, potentially accumulating up to a half an inch.
This could cause downing of large trees and power lines. Untreated road surfaces may become ice covered.
A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Western and Central New York from late Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.
Heavy rain along with snow melt will result in excessive runoff and significant rises on local creeks and streams.
When Dicks Sports Goods moved into the former Lowes store on Veterans Memorial Drive, there was a lot of space unaccounted for. Now a site plan revealed by the county’s Planning Department shows a Kohl’s Department Store, Marshalls and Five Below coming to the Batavia Towne Center plaza.
Kohl’s would be located just south of Dick’s Sports Goods.

A Batavia man is accused of stealing from Main Street Pizza.
Batavia Police have arrested 19-year-old Eric Mancuso of Woodrow Road and charged him with Falsifying Business Records and Scheming to Defraud.
An Orleans County man is jailed without bail after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
31-year-old Justin Easterbrook of Gray Road, Barre, is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and second-degree Assault.
The incident happened last weekend at Billy Goats on West Main Street, Batavia.
