It seemed like a foregone conclusion earlier this week and now it’s official: Sunday’s Bills game against the Miami Dolphins will be blacked out on local television, according to the team.
The Bills were not able to sell out their last home game of the season meaning fans can only watch the game at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
It’s the NFL’s second blackout of the year. The Bills came close several times -- they were granted extensions from the league and twice owner Ralph Wilson Jr. stepped in to scoop up unsold tickets.
The news comes as the FCC announced this week that it wants to eliminate sports blackout rules.
