It will be a warmer day today with a high expected to be about 40. It is also the single most traveled day as every one returns home after the Thanksgiving holiday. You can expect mostly cloudy skies in the Genesee Country with a shower likely. Yesterday we had a high of 35 degrees and a low of 15 for the final day of November that came in colder than the previous two Novembers. 

Five persons were injured and one arrested following a two car crash on Friday morning at the intersection of Oak Street and Richmond Avenue in Batavia. Police say a car driven by 46 year old Michael Sanders failed to yield the right of way when turning left and collided with another car. 3 persons in the car were injured and 2 pedestrians who were standing on the sidewalk at the intersection were struck and injured. 3 of the victims were taken to UMMC and the other two, to Strong Memorial Hospital. Sanders was given a ticket for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. Batavia Police say additional charges may be pending.

 An accident in the Wal-Mart parking lot led to an arrest. 43 year old Donald Irwin of the Main Road in Stafford was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. During the investigation of the property damage accident, it was discovered that Irwin was allegedly in possession of a metal knuckle knife.

A Basom man was arrested after a traffic stop on the Fotch Road in the town of Stafford. 25 year old Brandon Gendron of the Judge Road in Basom has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, driving an un-inspected motor vehicle and with failure to keep right. The marijuana was found in Gendron’s vehicle.

18 year old Stephen Peters of Wyoming Road in Warsaw has been charged with petit larceny. He was arrested for stealing merchandise from Wal-Mart.

54 year old David Bucholtz of North Spruce Street in Batavia was also charged with petit larceny. He also is accused of stealing merchandise from Wal-Mart.

Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies have charge 58 year old Harry Flatt of Fruit Avenue in Medina with felony DWI. He was stopped on route 63 in Oakfield. He was also charged with failing to keep right and for making an unsafe lane change.

An investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of 39 year old Michael Wall of Oak Orchard Road in Elba. He was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child. Wall was arrested in connection with a reported domestic situation on November 23rd.

29 year old Dustin Locicero of Gibson Street in Bergen is locked up with no bail set on a forgery charge. He was arrested after a complaint of a forged stolen check.

If you travel to New York City, have an E-Z pass and use any of the New York Port of Authority Bridges plan on paying more. A 75-cent toll increase has gone into effect today for the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels and Staten Island crossings for e-zpass users only. Off peak tolls head to nine dollars while on peak goes to eleven bucks. Cash rates remain the same. It's the third in a series of five toll hikes that end in a couple years.
