An Orleans County pastor is arrested on sex abuse charges.
At a press conference in Lockport this afternoon, State Police announced the arrest of 70-year-old Roy Harriger Sr. of Middleport. He's currently a pastor at Community Fellowship Church in Johnson Creek.
State Police say he’s being prosecuted for the alleged sexual abuse of two victims from 2000 to 2001 when he was the pastor at Ashwood Wesleyan Church in Lyndonville.
State Police say 10 other alleged victims have been identified after one came forward. Police say there could be more sex abuse victims dating back to the 1970s in Michigan and Pennsylvania as well, though the statute of limitations has run out on most of those.
Harriger Sr. is charged with two counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct, two counts of incest and four counts of sodomy – all felonies.
Bail was set at a quarter million dollars.
