A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for Genesee, Orleans and Monroe counties from 4 o’clock this afternoon through 1 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy, blowing snow with a total storm accumulation of six to 12 inches of snow by early Thanksgiving morning. Expect winds out of the north at 15 to 25 miles per hour gusting to 40 by tomorrow night.

The Weather Service says the heavy, wet snow could cause isolated power outages.
If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving, it may be best to head out as soon as possible today depending on your destination, or leave Thursday morning.
