Everything is on schedule for the county’s endeavor to upgrade its communications system.
Phase I should be operational by the Feb. 10 deadline, officials told members of the Public Service Committee Monday, with equipment installation completed at the towers at Cedar Street in Pembroke.
The Pavilion tower should be finished soon as will the entire microwave-transmission system.
The radios are also starting to be installed in town and county highway vehicles.
Sheriff Gary Maha announced at the meeting that a company has announced it produce a compatible scanner.
Phase II would install towers in Darien, Bergen and Alabama.
