A Wyoming County man is locked up on $50,000 bail accused of submitting a child under the age of 11 to sexual contact.
George Reeves, 74, of the Town of Wyoming is charged with Criminal Sexual Act, Sexual Abuse and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Troopers say he allegedly sexually abused the child at his Middlebury home over a two-year period starting in 2011.
Reeves is due in court Nov. 18.
State Police was assisted in the investigation by the Justice for Children Center in Batavia. An order of protection was issued for the victim.
A Batavia man is facing charges following an alleged altercation that occurred in the presence of a child.
Arthur Osborne, 47, of West Main Street Road is charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Sheriff’s deputies say Osborne allegedly pulled another person to the ground and hit and kicked the victim while on the floor.
He was jailed on $500 bail and is scheduled in court Nov. 25.
