A power outage affecting parts of eastern Orleans County and the Village of Holley is likely not the result of strong winds, but rather a tractor-trailer crash.

Deputies say a tractor-trailer driven by 23-year-old Richard Breslawski of Hamlin was driving along State Route 31in the Town of Murray at 8 this morning when he lost control of the vehicle when exiting to Fancher Road. The truck jack-knifed, striking several parked cars at a service shop before shearing off a National Grid utility pole.

Breslawski, the sole occupant, was not injured and there were no other injuries.
Deputies say unsafe speed could be a factor in the crash.

At one point 2,000 customers were without power earlier today, but that number has gone down to less than a dozen in the area.
