Classes resumed this morning at Byron Bergen Central Schools.
A natural gas odor prompted officials to close the schools around 9:30 yesterday morning while the situation was checked out.
School Superintendent Casey Kosiorek said two small leaks were detected only because the gas company added an excess of ordorant.
Natural Gas has no smell. The tell-tale odor of gas is artificially added.
Kosiorek said the buildings are safe to enter.
