The dumpster enclosure for the School Street parking lot, rejected by City Council, will be built afterall.
The Board of Directors of the Batavia Business Improvement District (BID) voted unanimously this morning to fund up to $10,000 of the total $35,000 cost of the enclosure.
Council had balked at using $10,000 of state VLT aid for the project. A majority of council members felt the money could be better used on other projects.
In the meantime, the city went ahead with paving the parking lot.
City Manager Jason Molino said this morning the dumpster enclosure project will proceed immediately.
