A cashier at the Batavia Walmart has been arrested for allegedly helping herself to more than a thousand dollars from the registers.
22-year-old Samantha Roberts of Vine Street in Batavia is charged with Grand Larceny.
Deputies say Samantha stole $1,072 while working at the store.
She was given a court appearance ticket
A Batavia woman is jailed for allegedly selling crack cocaine in the city.
32-year-old Toni White of West Main Street was arrested on a sealed Grand Jury Indictment.
White has a long list of arrests in Genesee County including disorderly conduct and petit larceny.
On the latest drug charge, she was released under supervision of Genesee Justice.
The City of Batavia has received proposals from 10 consultants to study the need for a new police station.
The current one, on Main Street, is over 100 years old.
Council is slated to discuss the study during its conference meeting tomorrow night and take final action on selection of a consultant at its October 15th business meeting.
There is a new class of inductees in the Batavia Blue Devils Athletic Hall of Fame.
Inducted during ceremonies last night was:
Brett Wormley, Class of '88, Ice Hockey and Football;
Julie Redband, Class of '96 for Soccer and Basketball;
Lance Cayea, Class of '84, football;
Todd Cayea, Class of '86 for football and hockey;
Michael Rogers, Class of '90 for Golf and Basketball;
James Bernard, Class of '81 and his late brother John, both for football;
And, WBTA's Wayne Fuller, Class of '65, the voice of Batavia High boys and girls basketball.
The Genesee ARC Friends and Family 5K was rain soaked but it didn’t slow down Michael Richenberg of Elba, who won race for the fifth straight year. Nearly 200 runners competed. Proceeds from the race, named in honor of Mary Ann Grainey, funds scholarships through the ARC. Results listed HERE:
