The United Way of Genesee County has announced its Fall Campaign goal of $400,000.
Money raised through the campaign stays in the community to benefit 15 local non-profit organizations such as the YWCA, Girl Scouts and Literacy Genesee.
“We get good support from the community, but we have to keep telling our story,” FallCampaign chairman Bob Bennett of the Bank of Castile said, “so people understand what these agencies are doing in making our community a better place to live and better for our parents, our grandparents and our children. I think we can aggressively hit this goal of $400,000 this year with the help of a lot of great agency people and volunteers.”
About 90 percent of donations come from businesses or corporations on a weekly basis, but individuals can also get involved. Visit uwgeneseecounty.org for more information.
