A Batavia boy has died of injuries he suffered in a car crash last weekend in the Town of Alabama.
10-year-old Shawn Wolcott died at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo where he had been a patient since the accident last Saturday on Ledge Road.
Shawn was passenger in a car driven by his father, Shawn Sr.
Wolcott told deputies at the time of the accident that his car suddenly jerked to right and struck a utility pole.
The impact split the car in half.
Just three weeks after being released from state prison, a Batavia man is charged with the attempted rape of a young woman at a West Main Street Road motel.
26-year-old John Saddler is also charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment. He was released from Collins Correctional Facility on August 11 after serving nearly six years on a pair of felony assault charges.
Saddler is being held at the Genesee County Jail.
Batavia City Council meets this Monday night.
Council is holding both a business meeting and a Conference session.
Council is expected to act on a $30,000dollar measure to repave the parking lot at Center and School Street.
That is the same parking lot where City Manager Jason Molino had proposed to build a $35,000 dumpster enclosure.
Council meets Monday night at 7p.m.
