Several Genesee County Fire companies are now cleaning up at the scene of a structure fire in Darien.
The first of the alarms was sounded just before 6 this morning at 180 Genesee Street. Route 33 between Crittenden Road and the Erie County line has been closed. Late reports indicate the fire is nearly out.
There are conflicting reports on the name of the business, we believe it is or once was a nursery/landscaping business.
The family of the late Kevin Smith of Orleans County is offering a $20,000 dollar reward for information leading to arrests and conviction of Kevin’s killer.
Smith was found dead in his Town of Shelby Home back in February of 2009.
Just recently, police identified a person of interest in the case. 45-year-old Steven Rebert, a long time acquaintance of Kevin Smith, was arrested for a double homicide in Pennsylvania. Rebert has also been identified as a person of interest in the death of Oakfield’s Bill Fickel. There is also a reward offered for information in the Fickel case.
Nine people are under arrest in Livingston County. All of them busted on drug charges related to the sale of pot, crack and prescription drugs. None of those arrested list a Genesee County address. Lawmen say they have been working the case for the past seven months and additional arrests are expected.

Philadelphia Flyers superstar, and former Buffalo Sabre, Danny Briere and his nine-year-old son escaped serious injury after a car accident near Binghamton.
State police say Briere was attempting to pass a tractor-trailer on Interstate-81 near the New York-Pennsylvania border early Thursday morning.
The front and back of Briere's SUV were crushed, however the 32-year-old star athlete and his son were not seriously injured.
Briere was on his way to Canada to visit family.
