The Livingston County SPCA Officer is charged with a felony count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

The Avon Police Department says it became concerned about Dylan Chase’s authority when on Aug. 10, he showed up to an annual event uniformed and armed with a pistol and a night stick. The police report says it also received questions from concerned citizens about Chase, who resides in Victor.

Chase admitted he neither had a valid NYS pistol permit, nor any certified firearms/deadly physical force training from the Division of Criminal Justice Service. Not to mention, an investigation revealed that as a convicted felon from 2002, Chase wasn’t allowed to own a deadly firearm.

Both the pistol and the night stick were returned voluntarily to the Avon Police Department. Chase was released and scheduled in court Sept. 9.
