After he left UB just after noon today following his speech on affordable secondary education, President Barack Obama started the trek to Syracuse – the second stop of the bus tour – on the Thruway.
That means he passed through Genesee County. Our Dan Fischer watched the presidential motorcade enter and exit the Town of Batavia going about 70 miles per hour, the entourage extending about a mile long. The $1 million presidential bus with the presidential seal emblazoned on the door passed Veterans Memorial Drive at about 12:45 this afternoon. He exited at LeRoy and continued onto I-490 East to Rochester.
A handful of people stopped along the way to try and snap a picture of this bit of history in Batavia.
