Although the National League affiliates came up short in the New York Penn-League All-Star Game last night by a 4-3 margin, the three Muckdogs selected made positive contributions.

Second baseman Avery Romero started and went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while teammate Felix Munoz got a hit and an RBI himself.

Pitcher Ryan Newell, fresh off of throwing eight no-hit innings this weekend at Dwyer Stadium, threw a perfect inning in relief with two strikeouts.

The well-rested Muckdogs return home tonight to play the Jamestown Jammers – a first-place division rival. The Muckdogs have won seven of their last 10 and are a season-high four-games over .500. They trail the wildcard standings by two games. You can catch that game tonight at 6:50 right here on WBTA.
