A Batavia man convicted of transporting a 16-year-old girl across state lines for sex was sentenced to nearly five years in prison in federal court today.

Timothy Logsdon, 29, was caught with the minor in Kentucky when police tracked his cell phone activity late last year. The girl was reported missing by her parents in September 2012. Logsdon admitted to police he planned to move with the girl to Tennesee to carry on a relationship.

He was convicted in April of transporting an individual in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illegal sexual activity. Logsdon is scheduled to be sentenced in Genesee County court Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.
