A motorcycle accident claims the life of a Bergen man and critically injures a young woman.
The accident happened around Noon yesterday on Selden Road in the Town of LeRoy.
The motorcycle was driven by 19-year-old Derek Sheldon of Bergen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, 19 year old Ashley Stillwell of Bergen, suffered multiple injuries and is listed in critical condition at Strong Hospital.
State Police said a car driven by 50-year old Marilyn Brassie of Bergen was making a left hand turn onto Selden Road from West Bergen Road and drove into the path of motorcycle.
Troopers say the investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed.
A Pembroke teenager remains in critical condition this morning following an ATV accident in Corfu.
16-year-old Benjamin Falker was operating a Polaris Sportsman 500 on West Main Street late Saturday night when he lost control of the vehicle, struck a row of bushes and overturned. Benjamin was then ejected from the four-wheeler.
Benjamin suffered a head injury and is in ECMC’s Trauma Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
A LeRoy man has been arrested on a charge of Attempted Rape in the first degree.
23-year-old Nathan Larson of South Street was arrested by LeRoy Police on a total of three felony counts.
Police say early Saturday morning, Larson tried to engage in sexual contact with a victim incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless.
Larson has been locked up in lieu of $15,000 bail.
A Batavia man may have picked the wrong house to rip off.
State Police arrested 24 year old Aaron Clark of Clinton Street, Batavia, for allegedly burglarizing the home of an off duty police officer.
Clark resisted the officer’s order to halt and instead took off on foot into a corn field on State Street near the Thruway.
Troopers and Sheriff’s deputies quickly tracked him down.
Clark was on parole for Robbery at the time.
He is under investigation for other possible burglaries in the area.
A flap of Darien Lake Dip n' Dots leads to a criminal charge.
24-year-old Anthony Stone of Greece, New York, has been charged with one count of disorderly conduct.
Deputies say Stone became upset with a Dip n Dots clerk at Darien lake, picked up the cash register and slammed it on the counter.
We don’t know what the Darien Dip n' Dots dispute was about.
