Batavia Downs is pushing back the opening of their expansion project. The 27 Million dollar project was expect to be complete by the end of August, now officials expect a grand opening to take place at the end of September. That project includes an expanded smoking room, moving all games to the first floor and the introduction of the Thurman Thomas sports bar.
Batavia based Graham Corp is having a strong year. Sales at the company have increased by 25 percent while earnings have tripled. Graham stock jumped after the announcement by a $1.50 per share to more than $33 per share.
Supporter of St Joseph School of Batavia have announced a new fund raising campaign. The All Apostles’ Society hopes to raise $50,000 by the end of the year. The effort is being co-chaired by Tom and Jean Lichtenthal, who not only attended the school but also sent their three children to St Joe’s.
