Two people are dead and three more are taken to Strong after they were ejected during a car crash in Wheatland.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the five from Caledonia were on their way home from working at a camp in Genesee County for children with special needs.

According to media reports, deceased are Taylor Binnert and Christopher Peterson. They were 21 and 20 years old, respectively. Binnert was identified as the driver.

Emily Peterson, sister of Christopher, and Michela Murphy -- both 17 -- were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries, as was 20-year-old Joanne Krutchen.

The accident occurred just before noon at the intersection of North Road and Riga-Mumford Road.

Deputies say the car collided with a tractor trailer.
