The old county courthouse in Batavia is due for a new roof, and the legislature Ways and Means Committee has approved a contract with a Rochester design company to do so.
The current roof was installed in 1976.The exterior copper should be fine, but the cedar shingle roof needs replacement. Once the plans are settled, a bid will go out to contractors to complete the work.
The combined cost of the basic design work and the hazardous materials design is almost $21,000.
