Tatyana Samodurov will work her chalking magic as this year’s Perry Chalk Art Festival featured artist. Festival goers will be able to see Samodurov in action on July 13, from 8:30am-4:00pm, on the Perry Festival Plaza, downtown Perry.
Samodurov, the 2012 Artists' Choice winner at the Perry Chalk Art Festival, is a visual artist and chalkboard illustrator based in Rochester, NY. Her winning design highlighted the rhythm and form of a mandala.
Tatyana was born in the Ukraine, and moved to the United States as a teenager. Her primary artistic medium is chalk, and much of her work is created to promote restaurants, events and small businesses. Tatyana has a BA in Psychology and Fine Arts from Oswego, NY.
The Perry Chalk Art Festival celebration begins at 8:30 on July 13th, with trained artists creating pastel masterpieces on the Perry Festival Plaza. Teens will compete for chalking prizes, and everyone can chalk to their hearts content on the Chalk Quilt. The Taste of Summer fine dining event will offer succulent seasonal dishes created by talented local chefs from noon to 3pm. Artists and passersby will enjoy live music, a Public Market and an extended Farmers’ Market, face painting, crafting and much more.
